Best Electric Scooter for 11 Year Old

Best Electric Scooter for 11 Year Old

If you are looking for a really fun, interesting toy to keep your child occupied, then you might want to try giving them an electric scooter. As kids age, they become harder and harder to keep occupied, so finding engaging toys becomes more and more difficult.

An electric scooter is great because not only does it keep them engaged, but it also gives them a mode of transportation and it encourages them to go outside instead of sitting on their phones or in front of the television.

With this in mind, let’s try to find the best electric scooter for an 11-year old by reviewing a few of the more popular ones. We’ve simplified our finding in the table below.

Razor E100 Electric Scooter

The first scooter that we should look at is the Razor E100 Electric Scooter. This is a great all-around scooter that offers a good balance between performance, safety, and price.

For starters, the Razor E100 uses not one, but two 12-volt sealed rechargeable batteries. These batteries, when combined with the powerful, chain-driven motor, result in a scooter that can go up to 10 mph. That may not sound good at first, but if the scooter doesn’t achieve a good speed, it isn’t going to be all that interesting to ride, so being able to achieve a decent speed is important.

In terms of safety, the Razor E100 has quite a few features that are worth mentioning. It comes with a very responsive, hand-operated front brake. The two wheels are steady and won’t break or deflate suddenly. Overall, both you and your child can be confident that there is not going to be an unfortunate accident when this scooter is being used.

The overall scooter itself is really well-made and put together; it also isn’t that pricey when you consider the quality either. There is a bit of assembly required, but pretty much of the truly essential components come installed quite well, so you don’t have to worry about the scooter breaking easily (we all know how careless younger kids can be sometimes) or coming apart during riding.

There are a few downsides to the scooter. Firstly, it’s very heavy (probably due to the presence of the two batteries). This is problematic because it means that if the motor dies or if the batteries aren’t charged, then the scooter is useless as it’s too heavy for a child to use it as a push-scooter. The rear wheel is also very smooth, which is good for plain roads, but can cause issues on other surfaces like dirt or on wet surfaces.

Hoverstar Electric Kick Start Scooter

So far, we have reviewed a really good scooter, but if your child isn’t familiar with scooters, then you might want one that is more geared to beginners. Que the HOVERSTAR Electric Kick Start Scooter for Kids. This isn’t a long-term scooter, instead, it’s kind of like a bike with training-wheels, meant to get your child used to the experience of riding.

Because this is a sort of “training” scooter, it has a ton of safety features. It can only achieve a max speed of 6 mph, which is extremely slow and extremely safe. The scooter is also designed with a really solid frame and base, so it remains stable when riding. Rounding out the safety features is a really easy to use, efficient braking system. So, an extremely safe electric scooter that lets your child get a good grasp on the basics of how to ride. Because it’s a training scooter, it’s also relatively cheap.

The main downsides to this scooter are that it will be boring for kids who have experience riding scooters already and that it’s really heavy. If your child knows how to ride a scooter, you would be better off finding one that goes a bit faster. However, this is great for beginners.

Razor E325 Electric Scooter

For the ‘Best Premium’ model in this article, we want to draw your attention to the Razor E325 Electric Scooter. This is the priciest electric scooter on this list so far, but as you might have guessed, it also provides probably the overall best performance of any scooter on this list.

In terms of speed, the Razor E325 blows past its competition. It can achieve a max speed of 15 mph, making it a great option for even veteran scooter riders. Despite the high speed, it still remains very safe to use because of some great features. For starters, it has a really responsive braking system. It has a very easy to use acceleration system which gives the rider greater control over their max speed. Like all Razor scooters, it has a good front wheel that helps the scooter to conquer difficult terrain without putting the rider in danger Finally, it also has a very large base, making it easy for your child to keep their balance, even at higher speeds.

As was mentioned earlier, the only real downside to this scooter is the high price. But, if you are willing to pay that, then you get an absolutely great scooter.

Maxtra E100 Electric Scooter

Another, really high-quality option to consider is the Maxtra E100 Electric Scooter. This scooter doesn’t really specialize in any particular area, it’s just a very good option at a decent price.

In terms of power and speed, the Maxtra boasts a 24-volt battery and a max speed of 12 mph. So, it’s powerful enough and fast enough for even experienced scooter riders to have some real fun with it. It also has the longest battery life of any scooter that has been reviewed so far. When fully charged, your child gets over an hour of riding time, which makes this great for getting places or for long riding sessions.

It’s also just a very easy scooter to use. It has an adjustable handlebar, a great braking system, and it’s very easy for your child to control.

Really the only downside to this particular scooter is that it does seem to require maintenance more often, to make sure that all the screws and bolts are still tightened.

Razor E200 Electric Scooter

The Razor E200 can achieve a max speed of around 12 mph thanks to its 24-volt battery. It also provides a very smooth ride thanks to the very well-made tire and brake system.

The tires, in particular, are worth mentioning because the scooter uses a large pneumatic tire which makes for a much better, smoother ride. It also has responsive brakes, so it’s very safe.

For this second last entry, we are looking at yet another scooter from Razor. Much like the E100, the E200 model is powerful, well-built, and a joy to use.

The major downside is the amount of time it takes for the battery to charge. It takes an entire day to fully charge the battery, and it only gives you 40-minutes of total ride time, which is a bit disappointing.

Pulse Performance Products Grt-11 Electric Scooter

If you are the type who wants your child to have the safest scooter possible, then you can’t go wrong with the Pulse Performance Grt-11 Electric Scooter. It’s a very good, very safe scooter.

Everything about this scooter seems to just make it safer to use. The frame is made of very solid steel, so it won’t ever break while your child is riding it. The max speed of the scooter is 8 mph, which is a bit on the slow side, but it’s definitely very safe. Even the baseboard that your child stands on is larger than average, helping them to maintain firm footing while riding. Likewise, it comes with a single-button throttle, which is easy to disengage in an emergency. Finally, there is a rearfoot brake for one last emergency safety feature.

As you can see, when it comes to safety, the Pulse Performance is basically unmatched. It does have a few negative aspects, however. Firstly, it’s heavy because of the solid steel frame. It also might not be all that fun for a child who is experienced with electric scooters because of the lower speed (they may have gotten sued to the higher speeds of other scooters).

Megawheels Electric Scooter

Another good option if you are looking for the best electric scooter for an 11-year old is the MEGAWHEELS Electric Scooter. This is, simply put, another very high-quality electric scooter that is a great option for kids.

Let’s start with what’s good about this scooter (and there’s a lot to mention). First off, it can achieve a max speed of 18 mph, making it a really fun scooter for your kid to ride around. It can also tackle some decently difficult terrain (it can handle slopes of up to 20-degrees). It’s also a good scooter to ride to places because it’s lightweight and it can be folded up easily, making it good for riding to the store or riding to a friend’s house.

It’s also a very versatile scooter. The handle can be adjusted upwards or downwards, so it can be used by different sized children and it can also “grow” with your children as they age. It’s also worth mentioning that the aluminum frame on the scooter is tough, but also still very lightweight.

Overall, definitely a very good, well-crafted electric scooter.

Probably the only negative aspect of this scooter that is really worth mentioning is the low battery life. Sadly, the battery on the scooter does die quite quickly, so it’s not really suitable for long trips.

Keep Kids Safe on Scooters

It’s natural to be unsure about whether it’s safe for your child to use an electric scooter. They can look dangerous, but they really aren’t any more dangerous than bikes. The same general safety tips apply.

  • Make sure that your child knows to wear a helmet whenever they are on the scooter.
  • Teach your child when to engage the brakes and when to use the throttle.
  • And finally, make sure that they understand not to take ultra-sharp turns.

Teach them these safety tips, and they should have no issues riding their scooters safely. Be sure to check the local laws around electric scooters in your state too.
