#1 Mongoose Kids’ Light-UP LED Adjustable Roller Skates

For the first review in this article, we are looking at the Mongoose Kids’ Light-UP LED Adjustable Roller Skates. This a great way to end the reviews because these are an extremely high-quality pair of roller skates that any kid would be lucky to have

For the first review in this article, we are looking at the Mongoose Kids’ Light-UP LED Adjustable Roller Skates. This a great way to end the reviews because these are an extremely high-quality pair of roller skates that any kid would be lucky to have.

These are easily the most comfortable roller skates on this list. The interior is roomy, while still being very safe to use. There is also an extremely generous amount of padding that keeps your children’s feet comfortable, even after very long skating sessions.

Every part of the roller skates is extremely well-made. The wheels, the chassis, the fabric on the outside, etc. The size adjustment function is both easy to use and very well-done. Just press a button and you can change the size.

The only downside is that they can be a bit tricky and time-consuming to put on, so expect to spend a bit of time helping younger children to get the skates on and off.

#2 Pacer Comet Kids Light Up Roller Skates

Next up, we have the first set of roller skates that are non adjustable. If you are looking for skates in various colors and sizes, then you might want to give these skates from Pacer a serious look.

For starters, these roller skates come in a nice variety of colors and styles. So, no matter your own kid’s personal preferences, you should be able to find a color scheme that they will like.

The roller skates are just very well-crafted. They are extremely comfortable, so your child shouldn’t have sore feet after a long skating session. They also come equipped with large, stable cast urethane wheels and lightweight, but durable chassis. Rounding out the safety features is a helpful and convenient toe stop (very similar to the ones found on all the Crazy Skates products that were reviewed earlier).

The major downside to these skates is the laces. The laces aren’t terrible, but they are definitely a weak point of the roller skates. The laces can fray and snap quite easily, which could be a safety issue. So, it’s worth checking every once in a while to make sure that the laces are in good condition. We recommend ordering one size larger than your child’s normal shoe size.

#3 Roller Derby Girls Sparkle Lighted Wheel Roller Skate

If you are in the market for a cheap, but still decent pair of roller skates to give to your child, then you might want to consider the Roller Derby Girls Sparkle Lighted Wheel Roller Skates.

Just because these are on the more affordable side, doesn’t mean that they are low-quality. The exterior, the chassis, and wheels on these roller skates are all extremely high-quality. It also comes with other safety features like a toe stop and a Velcro strap. You definitely don’t have to be worried about your child riding these.

Overall, these are very simple and affordable roller skates that any kid is sure to love. However, it should also be noted that they aren’t exactly the most durable pair of roller skates. Things like the exterior of the roller skate or the laces probably won’t last for all that long, but given the price, it isn’t that surprising.

#4 Crazy Skates Flash Roller Skates for Girls

Coming up next on this list we have our first entry from Crazy Skates. These light up girls skates are a bit similar to the last pair of roller skates from this brand, but there are a few key differences.

For starters, these skates are designed with girls in mind and that is obvious from the moment that you see them. They feature a clean white exterior with pink heart decorations. Overall, they are nice and colorful, and they should be able to easily appeal to young girls of all stripes.

One, somewhat more unique, aspect of these roller skates is the fact that they are great for beginners. You can tighten the wheels, which reduces the max speed but also makes them more stable. Then, once you are confident that your child can handle the roller skates, you can loosen the wheels to let them go faster. A good system that really makes the roller skates a lot better.

Much like the previous offering from Crazy Skates, the Flash Roller Skates also place a high emphasis on safety with high-quality wheels that provide a firm grip, as well as a toe stop for quick braking.

The downside to this set of roller skates is that they can be a bit on the uncomfortable side. The leather isn’t the greatest, so it can end up being stiff and a bit too tight.

#5 Crazy Skates Flash Roller Skates for Boys

So far, we have only reviewed roller skates for girls, but this isn’t only a hobby for girls, plenty of boys enjoy it as well. So, it’s time that we reviewed a this set of roller skates aimed at boys. Again, this set is from Crazy Skates, so a lot of the same great features that were mentioned in the previous review will show up again.

To give you a good example, these skates also have motion-activated lights on their wheels. The lights can run for over 500-hours without needing battery replacements. Likewise, these roller skates boast the signature Crazy Skates urethane wheels and toe stops, both of which provide great balance and stability while your child is riding.

The design of the skates is great. With a mixture of dark blue and black, these roller skates are definitely going to appeal to any young boy. The roller skates are very comfortable to use. So, they look great and they feel great.

The only issue is with the lights on the wheels, as sometimes these can be finicky. They don’t light up or they don’t stay on. It isn’t a major issue, but it can pop up from time-to-time.

#6 Crazy Skates Adjustable Inline Skates with Light Up Wheels

The third pair of Crazy Skates that we want to review is the adjustable Inline Skates for Girls and Boys. The first thing to note is that these can be used by either girls or boys. They have two gender-neutral color designs that are complimented with with light up wheels.

The roller skates, in general, are very well-made. They have motion activated LED lights on wheels that are bright and colorful. They also come with high-quality ball bearings and a high-impact chassis. All these features work together to allow your child to achieve decently high speeds without damaging the roller skates. They are durable and well-made, which is one of the most important things to consider when evaluating any pair of roller skates.

They are also very safe to use for a variety of reasons. For starters, as was mentioned earlier, they are durable, so you don’t need to worry that they will break suddenly when your child is using them. Secondly, it has both good urethane wheels and a very helpful heel stop, both of which make it easier for your child to navigate difficult terrain without falling.

These skates will grow with your child as they can adjust by 4 shoe sizes. The padding and lining will ensure for comfort and stability of your child’s feet.

#7 Kuxuan Saya Adjustable Inline Roller Skates for Kids

For our last review, we are looking at a really high-quality set of roller skates in the form of the adjustable kids Kuxuan Saya Roller Skates.

As the name of the roller skates indicates, these are meant to be highly adjustable, so they can effectively “grow” with your child. You could get these roller skates for a very young child, and then just adjust the size as they grow older. The adjustment process is very easy and can be done with the press of a button that’s located on the side of the skates.

Although these are inline roller skates, they are extremely safe. They come with a ton of different safety features including a buckle around the cuff, a Velcro strap, and a set of high-quality laces. In other words, you don’t have to worry about these skates coming loose when your child is using them.

A downside to these skates is that they do require some regular maintenance, especially around the wheels, which need to be oiled every couple of weeks.

Keep Kids Safe with these Roller Skating Safety Tips

Roller skating isn’t nearly as popular as bike riding, so it’s likely that a lot of you reading this haven’t roller skated before. So, now is a good time to go over some basic roller skating safety tips that you should pass onto your child.

For starters, make sure that your child always wears a helmet.

Secondly, you might want to also get them some elbow pads and knee pads. These aren’t as essential as a helmet, but they can prevent some nasty scrapes.

It’s also a good idea to the check the roller skates every now and then to make sure that none of the screws or wheels have come loose. If you do notice that a screw is loose, fixing it is easy and just requires some basic tools.

Safe Places for Kids to Roller Skate

kids roller skate safety

Another important factor for keeping kids safe while roller skating is where they do it.

Designated areas such as skate parks and roller skating rinks are great places to keep kids off the sidewalk and away from the dangers of vehicles.

Driveways and general public areas have various hazards. Be sure to accompany your child if using either of these to roller skate on.

If you’re not sure on your state skate laws, be sure to check them thoroughly before venturing out.
